I watched it all, i was amused that knowing very little about a subject allows you to debate with 2 others against 1 who did know what he was on about. can we possibly get a podcast talking about this? i dont mind being about for that!

I watched it all. I also sent a VERY angry email to ITV. Its a good thing I have a large enough vocabulary to express anger and disgust in so many different ways.

That they at one point pretty much blame video games for the murder of Jamie Bulger was the breaking point.

Emailing a complaint leads nowhere. They tell you to send another email to somebody else. Who have just told me to contact somebody else. Nobody wants blame. Dicks.

"I'd like to make a complaint about the episode of the Alan Titchmarsh Show that included a piece about 'violent videogames'. While there was one expert who had a good knowledge of the subject, is it right for 3 other to join a debate they clearly know little about? Not only did I feel like he had been put to the slaughter, but the crowd even seemed to want his blood. Yes, there are violent video games, but there are also violent types of all media. Be it books, television, the cinema and even the news the3y all portray violence in many different degrees. What videogames give, is the user to be in this situation and gain a point of view no other media can give. How can the people on the Alan Titchmarsh Show have any speck of an idea as to what this is like?

Perhaps you thought that Julie Peasgood, who has once done voiceover for a videogame, would have a remarkable insight. How wrong you were. Even Kelvin Mackenzie has glorified war by entitling a newspaper "GOTCHA" during the falklands. "Gotcha' was mine, which I'm very proud about. The fact that the enemy were killed to my mind was a bloody good thing and I've never had a moment's loss of sleep over it". Yet this man has the opinion to disregard all videogames as violent and misleading to children? There are many words I feel like calling this 'man', but I shall choose to use none as I feel none are needed.

This is disgusting and as such I find the piece about videogames mis-educating and insulting. I would also like to know why the piece was shown in a programme obviously aimed at an older demographic. Older generations have shown little interest in videogames, although many are now discovering the media and very much enjoying it.

As part of the gaming community, I am disgusted that such a beloved mainstream activity can be seen with such contempt by a group of people who have very little experience in the medium. Do all media not garner controversy at some point in their still young lives?

We can only hope that the people behind this programme see some wisdom and apologise for such a miseducated piece of television. It has shown to me and many others that ITV are looking for easy television and not doing the slightest bit of research into a media that will most likely take over many other media in years to come.

" MrPointyHead

@vandalworks 1992 called, Titchmarsh, and it wants its poorly informed reactionary opinions on video games back. #BanNightTrap "

Thought I'd share=]

Fair play, that Pointyhead guy is awesome on twitter. He was the one who told me how to get registered as a games press member. I like him. Also he has a Tekken tattoo. inferior fighting game, but I admire the dedication.
