The future is more pink thank orange

Its been a busy week for companies announcing new games, whether initially cryptically as the Dead Space 2 'art' piece was intended to be or the announcement that the original cast of Left 4 Dead will appear in the upcoming (Spring 2010) DLC for Left 4 Dead 2. Also the trailer for Halo:Reach and the imminent God of War sequel. There was also the announcement of Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 at the Spike VGAs.

Add into this the January-April release schedule (and the new Borderland DLC coming before new year) which includes some amazing looking sequels and some great new titles and the next 6 months look set to be very rosy for video games indeed.

Will all this choice mean that sales will be lower? Has pushing games back to avoid Modern Warfare 2 had the opposite effect than was wanted (we know that Left 4 Dead 2, Tekken 6, Borderlands etc. all still sold well)? It remains to be seen. What will you buy?

Honestly I could just fast forward to March 9 and FFXIII at this point, everything else is just filler. Its out on the 17th in Japan. Tokyo is 9 hours ahead so its released in a little over 16 hours. I bet the fans are beside themselves right now.

substitute FFXIII for ME2 and the dates and you got how I feel, luckily Mass Effect 2 is out in ~1 month ^^_

New trailer: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/the-dirty-mass-effect/60001?ref=embedfeat

Its already confirmed as multi-disc so twice as awesome as the first = game of forever for me. Especially now the lift sequences have been removed and the planets for the Mako quests are better (read: good this time)!

If you are itching for FFXIII then you could always pick up one of the two most awesome jRPGs in recent history in Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesperia, both are really well worth some hard earned cash.

The problem for me is that BlazBlue and SSF4 are out round about March (BB MIGHT be out in Jan, its all very hushed at the minute) , so there wil be no time for me to even think about getting FFXIII...

@Cr0nt I'm hoping to get Vesperia for Christmas^^

@jtrb - good, when I get done with Eternal Sonata you can borrow my copy - don't expect much gamerscore from ToV though - unless you will be playing nothing else until FFXIII comes out

Darksiders and Alien vs. Predator are the next must buys for me. The first two AvP games for pc captured the feeling of tension perfectly and i only hope this next gen version does the same plus its got its own version of Horde! " game over man!!! Game over!!!"

@Bojack85 - you're not interested in Aliens: Colonial Marines? Its being developed by Gearbox and looks pretty intense! Of the two I think its the one I'd want

@cr0nt. AvP has always been developed by Rebellion so i know what to expect plus the added trophy kills mechanic looks awesome as for Marines I havent read or seen much to make an opinion but if its good and manages to capture the atmosphere that AvP creates I will definately pick it up.
